I
studied Art and Design at colleges in Hertfordshire and London, but
after a few years working in the commercial world of graphic design I
made a career change and left Art behind.
Then
I moved to Cornwall and, perhaps due to the beautiful location, I’ve
returned to my artistic roots and started painting over the last couple
of years. In addition to my own painting, I run art workshops in the
winter for adults and an art club for children in the school terms.
In
my work I try to capture my subject with realism, but also retain some
of the vibrancy and emotions experienced when you are actually observing
the subject, creating an image which has both figurative elements and
elements of abstraction. I love the chaos of the natural environment and
the interplay of light, dark and colour.
